Real Salt Lake is coming off a disappointing loss at the LA Galaxy. Can they bounce back at home?

It seems to be a recurring issue. Not enough chances. But it does look like it is getting better. Luna and Gozo are starting to find a good connection, and it’s only a matter of time before they start making magic. Of course, Luna and Gozo, as well as Marczuk and Piol, are on international duty, leaving RSL limited in the attack. It could be a chance, though, for Matthew Bell and Tyler Wolff to break out and show that they deserve playing time.
Of course, there is one consistent player in RSL’s lineup that is worth mentioning. That’s Rafael Cabral. He has played every minute of the season so far, and while things haven’t quite gone as planned, he has come up with several big saves that have kept RSL in matches. Cabral has taken some knocks but keeps going on anyway. Cabral could be key to RSL’s future success.
If RSL wants to get going, they also need to avoid unforced turnovers. RSL gives the ball away too often in the defensive third and concedes goals that could be avoided. Additionally, RSL tends to get caught out in transition too often. RSL needs to play smarter and not be careless with the ball. RSL should be willing to make the best out of every opportunity, not wasting it with impulsive shots from long range that miss by a lot.

Keys to the match: vs DC United
- Stay sharp defensively: RSL tends to make sloppy errors in the backline. They need to tidy up and play smart. Especially when it comes to set-piece marking.
- Don’t give the ball away in bad spots: RSL has trouble playing out of the back, even with minimal pressure. They will need to play smarter and not make sloppy passes.
- Take advantage of every chance: RSL needs to stop taking impulsive shots from distance. Be patient, and if it isn’t there initially, recycle and start again.
In the end, RSL can stop the bleeding and get themselves back on track. They are in control and can fix things. A game against a stunned DC team could be just what this team needs, but could also be a trap. RSL will need to keep their heads up and stay positive. They can do it, but it won’t be easy.
