Parker Kingston was exciting last year in punt and kick returns. Let’s take a closer look.

BYU Football is now two games into the year and is heading on its first road trip. One player to watch is Parker Kingston. He is a talented wide receiver who had a few punt returns last year. His star moment was at home against Kansas State. He muffed the punt return, and the ball bounced behind him. He chased it down, ran across the field, and found some space. He had blockers and ran 95+ yards to the end zone.
Parker Kingston was raised in Layton, Utah, and attended Roy High School. He played quarterback in high school and was a three-year varsity starter. He is a redshirt junior. Kingston was a three-star recruit out of high school and was also recruited by Utah, Air Force, and Fresno State. Kingston led the 6A classification in rushing touchdowns with 18 in 2021.

In 2024, Parker Kingston had 13 receptions for 196 yards and a touchdown. He also had 17 punt return attempts for 236 yards and two touchdowns. Kingston has struggled this year, and BYU is looking at other return options. Kingston still has 10 games left to prove himself, and it’s not all over. He needs to work on ball control and not turn it over like he did against Portland State.
Overall, Parker Kingston is a great football player. He has been an exciting player to watch and has potential. Kingston needs to get the ball handling cleaned up, and then he will be even better. BYU needs him to be going by the time Big 12 play starts. He is a fun player to watch, and could be even better soon.
