BYU Football is less than seven weeks away. Let’s take a peek at who fans should keep an eye on.

BYU Football is almost here! We now have less than seven weeks to go, and the excitement is building. BYU has a talented program, and there are a lot of good players on the roster, so it was hard to pick just four, but these four might have the biggest impact on the team this season.
Will Ferrin
BYU had a beautiful special-teams game last year. Booming punts, electric returns, and of course, key field goals. Will Ferrin made 35 out 38 field goals, with a conversion perccentage of 92.1%. Ferrin hit the game-winner against Utah last year and made several other big field goals that helped BYU reach its 11-2 season. I expect Ferrin to get better this next year and make more big kicks.
Jack Kelly
BYU’s Jack Kelly was a monster on defense last year and made several key tackles to keep BYU in games. KSL TV reports that Kalani Sitake and Defensive Coordinator Jay Hill have said that Jack Kelly could play anywhere on defense. BYU has high praise for this guy, and he is a favorite of mine since Week One of last year. He has a lot of hustle and not a lot of quit, with experience on both sides of the ball at Kerns High School.

LJ Maritn
LJ Martin reminds me of Jamal Williams. He can run, and is hard to bring down. He definitely is one of those players that opponents circle in the film room. He is both quick and strong, with no fear and full confidence. Martin is fun to watch and played a big part in BYU’s run game last season. If he can stay healthy and keep working hard, he could be a real force to be reckoned with.
Parker Kingston
Parker Kingston had a monster 2024 season. The Redshirt Junior from Layton, Utah, had a few big returns and caught some big passes. Kingston went viral against Kansas State last year, where he muffed a punt catch, chased it, scored it, and then lost dinner. It seems like even when Kingston makes mistakes, he still finds ways to make the big play.
BYU has a good team this next year, and I am excited to see where it goes. There is a lot that goes into a football team, not just players, but coaches, trainers, and support staff. These four players, plus the entire team, work with people to get as good as they are, and it shows. BYU has one of the best football staffs and a great player group heading into 2025, and the sky is the limit. Onward!
