BYU Football will head on the road for its first Big 12 game of the year.

BYU Football is 3-0, and the time has come for Big 12 play. BYU will travel on the road to take on the Colorado Buffaloes. BYU’s last game against the Buffaloes was in the 2024 Valero Alamo Bowl, which the Cougars won 36-14. BYU is undefeated and is outscoring opponents 130 to 37. The Cougars won last week against East Carolina 34-13. BYU’s defense has been dominant, and it is going to be up to them to stifle the multi-threat Colorado offense.
BYU has forced six turnovers while giving the ball away only once and not allowing any points from that. BYU has spread the work around the defense, with several different players getting sacks, tackles for loss, and turnovers. The BYU defense led the entire FBS in interceptions last year, and they have picked up right where they left off. BYU could make a postseason run with its defense leading.
BYU’s special teams haven’t disappointed either, with Will Ferrin being a perfect eight for eight on field goals and tying a school record with a 56-yard field goal. While the return game hasn’t been the best, it is showing promise. BYU’s punter, Sam Van Der Haar, has been red-hot, pinning opponents deep in their own territory. BYU has a reliable kick and punt game for when they need to get out of a jam.

BYU Keys to the game: at Colorado
- Stay smart and don’t turn the ball over: BYU is good when the offense is clicking, but has had some nervy moments, especially on kick and punt returns. BYU needs to be smart and not make any risky decisions.
- Stay aggressive: BYU has a strong run game and an electric pass game. BYU will need to score a lot of points to win this game.
- Keep the pressure on Colorado: BYU defensively will need to keep pressuring Kaidon Salter and make Colorado earn every yard. BYU can force turnovers, and that can cost the Buffaloes points and possibly the game.
BYU Football is gearing up for Big 12 play, and it is going to be exciting. Will Ferrin, LJ Martin, Jack Kelly, and others will be key. BYU has a lot of talent, and they all have potential. BYU can do big things this year, and it is up to the players to make it happen. BYU needs to not turn the ball over, stay aggressive, and keep the pressure up. BYU can win this game, and they are ready.
