BYU Football is back at Lavell Edwards Stadium to play the West Virginia Mountaineers tomorrow night.

BYU Football is back at home. The Cougars will host West Virginia at Lavell Edwards Stadium on Friday at 8:30 PM MDT/10:30 PM EDT. WVU has struggled this year and has not won a conference game. They are 2-3 in the year, and their only two wins were against rival Pitt and Robert Morris. WVU is coming off a crushing loss to Utah at home, and they are looking to bounce back.
BYU Opponent Information: West Virginia
West Virginia University is located in Morgantown, West Virginia, and its mascot is the Mountaineer. They compete in the Big 12 Conference alongside BYU and are sitting in last place. WVU plays football at Mountaineer Field at Milan Puskar Stadium. The quarterback for West Virginia is former Texas A&M quarterback Jaylen Henderson after starter Nicco Marchiol’s foot injury. The Mountaineer’s head coach is Rich Rodriguez.

WVU is 0-2 away from home, and they appear to be on track to finish with a similar record to last year’s 6-7. They have struggled. But BYU has never beaten West Virginia, currently holding a 0-2 record. Of course, BYU has never hosted WVU in Provo, and it is a tough place to play as a visitor, especially at night. Throw in 4,551 feet of elevation, and Provo is a hard place to play.
BYU has a strong chance to beat West Virginia at home. BYU is undefeated and is the heavy favorite. Quarterback Bear Bachmeier looks ready for his first Big 12 home football game, and the lights at Lavell Edwards Stadium only get brighter from here. BYU can dominate this football game, but they will need to be smart and not play to WVU’s level. It’s almost gameday, and BYU is ready.
