Keanu Tanuvasa has been a force to be reckoned with this season. Let’s get to know him.

BYU Football is once again victorious. The Cougars beat Utah 24-21 on Saturday. Keanu Tanuvasa was a key player in that game, and his presence was definitely felt. BYU is undefeated largely because of its defense, and every member plays a key role. Tanuvasa, in the 2025 season, has thirteen tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, one fumble recovery, and one sack.
Keanu Tanuvasa grew up in Mission Viejo, California, and prepped at Mission Viejo, California. He played three seasons at Utah, redshirting in 2023. He transferred to BYU before the 2025 season. Tanuvasa has been a great example of not giving up. He is not a big flashy player, and he doesn’t draw a lot of attention, but he still puts the work in and gets it done.

Keanu Tanuvasa is a great defender. As a defensive end, he has a lot of responsibility to keep the opponent’s run game minimal and force the quarterback to make mistakes. He is a big man, standing at six feet four inches and weighing 300 pounds. Keanu is a strong defender and has made several big plays. Tanuvasa is a phenomenal player with high potential for his senior year next year.
BYU is a good team, and they have the defense to thank for a lot of their success. Tanuvasa has been a big part of that success, and BYU should be grateful for him. While he may not be at the level of Tayler Batty, he seems to be a great fit for the hole that Batty left. BYU and Keanu can only go up from here, and the Cougars have it all working in their favor.
